Barry was born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi. * Began fishing the Ms. Gulf Coast, Gulfport, Long Beach, and Biloxi area when he was 10, catching redfish and shark. * Started working on a Gulfport charter boat when he was 16 as a deck hand on the charter boat Sand Dollar out of Gulfport, fishing Gulfport, Biloxi area with Capt. Jim Mowrey, until his retirement from chartering. * Began working out of the Broadwater Marina, in Biloxi on the charter boat Blue Runner with Capt. Tony David, a long time charter captain from Biloxi, until his retirement. * He then started on the charter boat Fishy Business Fishing Gulfport, Biloxi area with Capt. Lenny Desroche, until he moved on to work on the Charter Boat Mis-Conduct Fishing Biloxi and the Gulfport area. * Bought his own boat in 1995 and started Charter fishing the Mississippi Gulf Coast with his own charter boat. He has been Fishing Ms. All of his life. He has logged countless hours on Ms. Gulf Coast charter trips. His customers have caught hundreds of redfish and thousands of sharks. | My wife, Sherry Deshamp, was the Mississippi Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo Queen Fisherette. She held on to the title for five consecutive years, in 2003 she received an award for 1st Place Hammerhead Shark. In 2004 she received the award for 1st place Red Snapper. On July 5, 2005 we brought our healthy baby boy, Sherry took a short pause from competing. She competed again for the 2006 Rodeo and brought home the title once more. I taught her everything she knows about fishing. |
